My fellow Indians, if there is one sentiment almost all of us share to some extent, it is the love we have for our precious rains. Not only are monsoons the bringers of everlasting happiness (and jumping in puddles!) but also the makers of unforgettable memories.
Here’s a monsoon to-do list I informally dare you to at least consider and, if you wish, follow.
It’s all fun and games, don’t worry xD
1) Go dance in the rain
-Clearly a very promising start but give it a thought. Some of my most amazing childhood days were spent playing hide and seek outside with my friends while it was raining. So go have your zoobi doobi moment tomorrow! Just make sure you treat yourself with a cup of hot chocolate right after to keep the dreadful cold away.
2) Read a tinkle/any comic book of your liking while sitting on the floor of your balcony/terrace
-A much simpler activity but with equally satisfying (and need I say, lovely) results. I have a few tinkles in my tiny personal library and often, I take them out and fully devour them. I’ve realized I prefer natural light over anything else while reading my books hence the second half of this dare because I truly believe you will love it too.
3) Have pakodas and chai with your family
-I mean, do I even need to put more emphasis on this?
4) Make lots of popcorn and play board games with anyone around you
-Even better if you end up making your very own board game, literally. The sort of joy, fun and jokes even a simple game of ludo/tambola can bring is too precious to not be enjoyed as often as possible.
5) Spend time with yourself and music
-In my personal experience, I’ve discovered the rainy season only encourages my creativity to an insurmountable extent. Other than that, keeping in mind how damn poetic the rains are, I feel a lot closer to myself than I would generally. It is when self-love (and even romantic love tbh) is at its peak and it is not something you’d wanna miss out on. Romanticize the hell out of your life!
6) Have fun!!!
-Sometimes, cliches are also intensely relevant and important in the context. Have fun this monsoon. Be safe because that should be our top priority right now, try not to get out of your place but also don’t forget to make the most out of it and life in general.
Happy Monsoon!
